Sale and Working on New

Hey Y'all, I hope you all are having a wonderful week!
I am currently having a sale through Etsy through Saturday for ALL! Cards and Bookmarks.

Last week my son got his first Haircut. Oh, let me tell you...
He is even more of a heart breaker now. He did great, not one tear!
Than again, my husband cheated and gave him a sucker.

I promised my daughter that we would have a mini photo-shoot for Valentines Day.

The only thing she needed to do to earn the shoot was to pick up the living room.
It was great seeing the living room clean for a whole hour! The mini shoot wore me out to the point I couldn't stand it. Well... Come find out I went into preterm labor. Now taking medicine that isn't helping much. Needless to say. I am on bed rest. While on bedrest, I am still editing and working on more products for the shop. Truth be told: we are not ready for baby Cameron to arrive just yet. We also didn't plan for me to have a baby doctor visit once a week. (the OB is 40 miles in one direction)

Back to the photoshoot, I did snag some great shots that I want to use later.
Such as this one of Mister Jake climbing on me. I am planning on using it in a catalog of all my photography session and graphic design product prices to take up and hopefully put in a couple of businesses in town. Even creating one for the iPad to take with me during sessions or meetings.

Before I work on the catalog, I am working on creating more samples to add.

Don't you love it when art leads you? I had it in my head that I was going to do a Save the Date and Wedding invitation set using an illustration with peonies. After I got done with my illustration shown above, I decided to add it to a wood texture I shot last year. I may have gotten carried away. The design went into a completely different direction than I had originally imagined it. I'm not complaining. I enjoyed making this and hope you do too! I can't wait to finish the wedding set. It will be fantastic. This save the date would feature an engagement photo printed on 5x7 flat at WHCC.

Thank you for all your support!

OWL LOVE

                 Hey Y'all,

Hope your weekend went better than mine. I ended it with making a lovely
Owl illustration to cheer my soul. Valentines is creeping up faster than planned.
I'll be almost 36 weeks when it arrives. My belly has consumed me. Right now,
I am down with bronchitis, house is a wreck and my insides are wanting to nest.
Needless to say, I am a train wreck. I have learned a new "comfortable" process
to my illustrations that help with my creativity and also make time to spend time
with my amazing family. I draw my outline in Adobe Illustrator then save as a PNG
Open in Adobe Photoshop to paint/color. Right now I am fanning over several
watercolor brushes I found HERE. They are so easy to use and look amazing.

Couponing?

My daughter found scissors...
Hey Y'all,

One of the MANY goals of 2014 is to start saving money! We are about to be a five person household. What better way than to start using coupons! Tuesday, my husband (pretending that he was not sick - horrible cold) took a trip to Kroger where we were able to stock up on food and used their coupons saving a total of $55 in groceries. That may not be a lot - for us it was an awesome start!

Now we are thinking of ways to boost it up a notch. I have compiled a list of people I have started following on Twitter and their personal blogs/websites.

1. Grocery Coupons - Website is found HERE or HERE!

2. Mandi Welbaum who is a community manager for Moms.com. HERE is her website.Don't you love talking with REAL women? It is very encouraging to know that I'm not reading a robot! ;)

3. A Mitten Full by Tatanisha  - Website HERE!
I am not regularly on Twitter like I am on Facebook. *cough* However I like to get on Tatanisha's twitter page to see what she has posted for the day or so. Why not learn from someone that can help you?!

4. Mom Does Reviews by Pamela Maynard. Her Website is found HERE!
I just love sweepstakes. Goal is to win one in the next five years! ;)

5. Capri's Coupons - Website is found HERE!
Another gal that updates twitter a lot! (I need to be more active - I know)

6. Generations of Savin - Website is found  HERE!

7. Frugal Coupon Living by Ashley Recio Nuzzo - Website is found HERE!
What do I love the most? List of FREE Kindle books! <3 nbsp="" p="">
8. About a Mom - Website is found HERE!
Not just coupons, but also other things that I find "Pin" worthy - such as recipes. You can never have too many recipes.

9. Alea Milham - Website is found HERE!
Did I mention she homeschools? My brain is going to be heating up for several days.

Did I mention I have hours worth of "homework" figuring out how to start couponing? It will be worth it! Even if we are continuing to save $50 a month.

Let's Connect!

Hey Y'all!

Today, I decided to search for more Etsy shops created out of Columbia, KY. I really would like to connect with more people in the area. I did not "grow up" in a small town. I moved a lot. I have lived in several small towns. Sadly due to the many different towns I have never felt "at home" anywhere. If I do have one, it is in Salem, KY. I have an adopted Grandma there. I regret to say I do not stay in touch with her like I need to. Anyway, Etsy has a new feature that allows local businesses to find each other. I found 8! I am sure there are more, but did not show up in the search results. (My products didn't show up.)

    HERE THEY ARE!
1. Ollie + Jays
2. FoodieBords
3. Personalized Accents
4. AJR Woodworks
5. MCoomerPlushiesnMore
6. MyCollegeCrafting
7. Sallietations
8. Mechanicality

If you would like to get connected I'd love to get to know more about this beautiful small county of Adair! Add me on Facebook or Follow me on Twitter! My husband and I are very happy where we are. We want to raise our children here and have a place to call "HOME."

Take Care,

D+J

Hey Y'all,

I hope you enjoy the session as much as I did!

Recap: almost two weeks ago, my neighbor messaged me
asking if I could do a mini session. I was feeling better than
I have been and happily agreed. I am so glad I did!
Even though it was 14 degrees at 9 a.m. - it was so worth it!
I even had the perfect sun glares from the morning sun.

I have several new templates and products coming soon.
More than likely you'll be seeing this beautiful couple
featured on them.

I immediately worked on two calendars:
Sized at 8x10 on Glossy paper.

Enjoy!

Christmas 2013 round up

Hey Y'all,

I am late posting this: Here is our Christmas Round Up from 2013.

It started with making Cinnamon Ornaments and Salt Dough Ornaments. Ember was excited about mixing up all this dough while singing Happy Birthday to Jesus.

During these crafts, my husband and I volunteered for the Journey to the Manger.

It was worth the cold!

For more crafts, Ember strung Jingle Bells through pipe cleaners so that we would know when anyone *cough*Jake*cough* touches the tree. As for me stringing popcorn for three hours... I must be the only one that can create a knot withIN the popcorn.
We had several Christmas parties to go to before our own tree was complete.
We were able to get it fully up and decorated with presents under it on Christmas Eve. <3 nbsp="" p="">

Next year will be differently. Seeing the kids reaction was priceless. Though Jake was not used to all the excitement. He was a little Linus from Peanuts with his blanket and sucking his thumb.

For mommy Christmas - Wacom Tablet!

Putting up the ornaments I realized how pitiful our tree looked. It was so worth getting the real tree.

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year!
